About Me:

Collingwood is my first and forever home: I was born at the hospital in Collingwood, raised on a farm in Glen Huron, and rode the bus to attend Collingwood Collegiate Institute. I have a BA from the University of Guelph, and a diploma in Broadcast Journalism from Fanshawe College. After school, I spent 21 years in radio news at stations including 680news and CHFI. Starting in 2007, I was News Director and morning show host at 97.7 The Beach.

I served on the Collingwood town council from 2018-22, and chaired several committees while also being the town’s representative on the Conservation Authority. I ran for mayor in 2022, and while I had the experience and knowledge to do the job, I did not have enough votes. So, instead, I volunteered on the Library Board and the Board of the Collingwood Sports Hall of fame, while becoming a part-time professor at Georgian College. I live with my husband, Charlie Rentner, and our two ridiculous dogs, Otto and Etta. In the winter, I help run the Junior Instructional program at the Collingwood Curling Club, where I also help out as a member of the Board of Directors.

We have a lot of big decisions ahead, and it’s essential we have a council that will make informed and responsible choices. I plan to approach the council table with the best interests of the whole town in mind. My promise is to be as careful and informed as possible when I raise my card to vote.
